Voice assistants are not the future of voice. Both companies are making vast improvements, but they're missing the big picture. Amazon Alexa has been leading the way in voice-enabled shopping. Google just announced new features for its voice assistant like continued conversation and multiple actions. This helps avoid any call translation issue occuring and other customers of the losing carrier not being able to call you at your new service provider.Speech recognition is a hot topic. In addition to notifying the losing carrier of the port-out, you should always request that they remove your number from their system on port out. Once your phone number has successfully ported, it's always best practice to notify the losing carrier (Google Voice) that you've ported your number out.
